What you write is at odds with the LSST's own press release:

digital camera to scan the complete visible night sky every week to a
deep magnitude."
as well as with the entire content of www.lsst.org, all of which is
predicated on the DMT monolithic design. What's a person to think?
If the design is truly not known, that should be reflected
explicitly by the project in its public utterances.
