REVISED ARC 3.5M SCHEDULE FOR 2ND QUARTER 2003 E. TURNER 5/5/03 NOTES: ***PLEASE READ*** 5/5/03 Note - Various trades and "pay backs" are recorded in this revised schedule. Also, the night of June 15 (both halves) has been declared OPEN. Anyone wishing to use it should send me a request ASAP. 3/28/03 NOTE - CU01/CU04 trade; no other changes. Except in cases where strong science drivers dictate otherwise (a minority of cases), observing time has again been scheduled in half night blocks. In fact, all currently scheduled science programs for this quarter are in half night blocks. Scheduled engineering time for this quarter consists of 4 nights of routine maintenance (EN01), or 4.4% of the total available time, and a "mini-shutdown" of 5 nights (EN02), or 5.5% of the total available time, for work on the enclosure shutter mechanism. As in the last 2 quarters, in addition to EN01 time, small blocks (10-15 min) of engineering time will be inserted into scheduled science nights on an unscheduled basis to obtain S-H collimation data on the telescope. In addition to scheduled engineering time, science observations may be pre-empted, sometimes on short notice, for urgent engineering tasks. Such tasks include both work that is required to safeguard observatory personnel or facilities and that allows "hot pursuit" of some significant problem. Please see links off of the APO home page (http://www.apo.nmsu.edu/) for a web based interactive version of this schedule. ----- EN Note: No science observations scheduled during EN time. ----- EN01 = EN01 Gill ? THE FIRST HALF OF EACH NIGHT EXTENDS FROM -12 DEGREE EVENING TWILIGHT UNTIL 0000 MST OR 0100 MDT. THE SECOND HALF FOLLOWS UNTIL -12 DEGREE MORNING TWILIGHT. FIRST HALF IS INDICATED BELOW AS "A"; THE SECOND, AS "B". THIS QUARTER ONLY TWO PROGRAMS USE NON-BLOCK SCHEDULING. THESE PROGRAMS ARE INDICATED IN PARENTHESES () ON THE SCHEDULE AND THEIR TIME ALLOTMENTS ARE LISTED HERE: PU04 = 30 MIN BEFORE -12 DEGREE MORNING TWILIGHT EACH TIME SCHEDULED. UC10 = 60 MIN BEFORE EVENING -12 DEGREE TWILIGHT EACH TIME SCHEDULED. INSTRUMENT CHANGE TIMES ARE NOT INCLUDED BELOW BUT WILL BE INDICATED IN THE SCHEDULE ISSUED FROM APO AND WILL BE SHARED BETWEEN ADJOINING PROGRAMS AS USUAL. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 4/1 A: UW01 B: CU04 4/2 A: PU01 B: PU02 4/3 A: PU01 B: UW03 4/4 A: (UC10)/UC05 B: UW01 4/5 A: UW01 B: UW01 4/6 A: NM03 B: NM03 4/7 A: PU02 B: PU02 4/8 A: UW03 B: UW05 4/9 A: UC06 B: JH01.S 4/10 A: UC05 B: JH01.S 4/11 A: PU02 B: PU02 4/12 A: CU03 B: PU06 4/13 A: JH03 B: UW03 4/14 A: EN01 B: EN01 4/15 A: EN01 B: EN01 4/16 A: NM01 B: NM01 4/17 A: NM01 B: NM01 4/18 A: NM01 B: NM01 4/19 A: UW03 B: PU06 4/20 A: CU03 B: PU06 4/21 A: PU01 B: UC06 4/22 A: UC03 B: NM02 4/23 A: UW03 B: NM02 4/24 A: JH01.D B: UW05 4/25 A: PU02 B: PU02 4/26 A: UW06 B: UW06 4/27 A: NM05 B: NM05 4/28 A: UW03 B: UW07 4/29 A: PU03 B: PU03 4/30 A: CU01 B: NM02 5/1 A: CU01 B: NM02 5/2 A: (UC10)/UC05 B: PU05 5/3 A: UC02 B: UC02 5/4 A: UC02 B: UC02 5/5 A: JH01.S B: PU03 5/6 A: UC03 B: UW05 5/7 A: UW03 B: UW07 5/8 A: UC06 B: CU02 5/9 A: UC06 B: CU02 5/10 A: UW09 B: CU02 5/11 A: UW03 B: CU05 5/12 A: EN02 B: EN02 5/13 A: EN02 B: EN02 5/14 A: EN02 B: EN02 5/15 A: EN02 B: EN02 5/16 A: EN02 B: EN02 5/17 A: UW03 B: UC04/(PU04) 5/18 A: UW10 B: UC04 5/19 A: UC03 B: UW09 5/20 A: UW04 B: UC04/(PU04) 5/21 A: UC02 B: PU02 5/22 A: PU03 B: PU03 5/23 A: UW10 B: UW10/(PU04) 5/24 A: CU04 B: PU05 5/25 A: JH02 B: JH02 5/26 A: UC02 B: JH01.D/(PU04) 5/27 A: NM05 B: NM05 5/28 A: UW03 B: UC07 5/29 A: NM03 B: NM03/(PU04) 5/30 A: UC09 B: UC09 5/31 A: UC09 B: UC09 6/1 A: UC09 B: DD03/(PU04) 6/2 A: DD03 B: DD03 6/3 A: DD03 B: DD03 6/4 A: DD02 B: UW05/(PU04) 6/5 A: UW07 B: UW07 6/6 A: (UC10)/UC05 B: JH02 6/7 A: UW08 B: UC04/(PU04) 6/8 A: UW09 B: UC04 6/9 A: UW09 B: UC04 6/10 A: UW08 B: UC04/(PU04) 6/11 A: EN01 B: EN01 6/12 A: EN01 B: EN01 6/13 A: UW04 B: UW04/(PU04) 6/14 A: UW09 B: UW08 6/15 A: OPEN B: OPEN 6/16 A: PU06 B: UW08/(PU04) 6/17 A: UW03 B: UW11 6/18 A: UC07 B: DD01 6/19 A: UW02 B: DD01/(PU04) 6/20 A: UW02 B: DD01 6/21 A: UW02 B: DD01 6/22 A: UW02 B: NM04/(PU04) 6/23 A: UW02 B: NM04 6/24 A: UW02 B: UC08 6/25 A: UW06 B: UW06/(PU04) 6/26 A: JH01.D B: UW05 6/27 A: DD02 B: JH02 6/28 A: UC08 B: UC08/(PU04) 6/29 A: NM05 B: JH01.D 6/30 A: NM03 B: NM03 APO APO APO APO APO Apache Point Observatory 3.5m APO APO APO APO APO This is message 669 in the apo35-general archive.
