Michael asked me to update the SWG about a meeting on the technical
challenges of the photometric and astrometric calibration for LSST type
surveys. The meeting is scheduled for the 7,8th April and will be help
at NOAO. All are welcome.

cheers
Andy

Dear All,

I'd like to continue our series of meetings on data management issues
for LSST. Currently we have addressed the issues of pipeline and
algorithm development and data management and databases. The next (and
possibly last) major issue we need to consider is how we calibrate an
LSST type survey photometrically and astrometrically. I'd like to put
together a 1-1.5 day meeting on calibration issues toward the beginning
of April.

When we have a time slot for the meeting we can address the specifics
over email - there has been a lot of progress in studies for the next
generation survey telescopes (both Pan-STARRS and LSST) that we can
build on. For the next meeting I believe it would be useful to bring
together some of the telescope and camera designs and discuss their
impact on survey operations and calibration.

cheers
Andy
