I missed David's point relating to consistency in NEO, NEA and PHA
usage in the abstract,
introduction and the body of the paper. The distinctions between these
are made
in the body of the paper. We had previously discussed that the object
with
our name on it will be a PHA, so might be more compelling to readers.
At this late stage,
however, it is not worth bringing up - so never mind....

Sorry for the typo - the point is that the statement was that the
Spaceguard goal
is to discover at least 90% of the NEAs - a distinction the NASA NEOO
project
is sensitive to.

The point I was trying to make with this statement is that if NASA is
to be approached to contribute
towards LSST, mission target identification would be highly relevant.

Michael:

In a couple of areas Steve Larson and I seem to be talking past each
other.

<excerpt>

To echo Dave Morrison, we should be consistent in emphasizing PHAs

rather than NEOs.

</excerpt>

Actually, I favor using NEAs, not either NEOs or PHAs, in the abstract
and introduction.

</excerpt>

I missed David's point relating to consistency in NEO, NEA and PHA
usage in the abstract,

introduction and the body of the paper. The distinctions between these
are made

in the body of the paper. We had previously discussed that the object
with

our name on it will be a PHA, so might be more compelling to readers.
At this late stage,

however, it is not worth bringing up - so never mind....

<excerpt><excerpt>

P6, Spaceguard survey has a goal of discovering by 2008 AT LEAST 90%

of the 1km NEOs.

</excerpt>

Again, this should be NEAs, not either NEOs or PHAs.

</excerpt>Sorry for the typo - the point is that the statement was
that the Spaceguard goal

is to discover at least 90% of the NEAs - a distinction the NASA NEOO
project

is sensitive to.

<excerpt>

<excerpt>

Discovery of PHAs requiring small delta V identify future potential
NASA

mission targets.

</excerpt>

I don't understand this comment from Steve -- it seems to me that the
distinctions between NEOs, NEAs, and PHAs are quite clear in the body
of the document. It is the sometimes inconsistent usage in the
abstract and introduction that concerned me

</excerpt>

The point I was trying to make with this statement is that if NASA is
to be approached to contribute

towards LSST, mission target identification would be highly relevant.
