Hello all,
Let me urge you again to give an update (posted to lsst-general) as
to where the science writeups started during our meeting last month
currently stand. I have heard informally from Mike Shara and Jon
Thaler, and Dave Monet has posted a note to lsst-general about
formulating the question of astrometric requirements, but otherwise,
there has been deafening silence. I had requested (lsst-general #104)
to get first drafts out on these writeups by this Friday...

As I mentioned, we will have a phone conference next week to discuss
where things stand. I heard back from only a handful of you on this
one as well, but I've gone ahead and scheduled it for Friday
afternoon, April 25, at 2 PM Eastern time; I'll send out call-in
information on this soon.

One of the things that became increasingly clear in Tucson was that
we all wanted the moon (figuratively speaking). For example, at
various times during the meeting, people suggested deep exposures over
essentially the entire sky in U, B, R, i, z, y, and the Stromgren
filters, many with repeats on a variety of time-scales. Clearly, this
is more than any realistic implementation of the LSST will be able to
accomplish in 5-10 years. In the minutes of the Tucson meeting
(lsst-general #102) I list a strawman cadence; it is very important
that the science writeups describe the extent to which this plan,
while not optimal, allows the core science to be carried out. Jeremy
has sent me an elaboration of this strawman, which I would like to
urge him to post.

			-Many thanks,
			Michael Strauss
