Firewall

A firewall is a hardware device or software program which can allow or deny network traffic based on source or destination address, ports, or in some cases protocol used. Once relegated to higher-up network devices and more secretive installations, firewalls are now a part of everyday life on the Internet due to the commonplace nature of malware, viruses and worms.
