There has been considerable progress in understanding the capabilities of the Guider instrument and presenting them so that the Guider may be frequently used, even in its present state. Although there is still some work to be done during the shutdown, there seems to be a reasonbly good chance that guiding will be available in a month. The first successfully guided science observation (3.7 continuous hours) occurred shortly before the shutdown. I have been building a Web Page with the latest understanding of the Guider instrument for some time. For those who have not seen it recently, let me mention that the "Latest News and Current Status 10/28/95" section may be worth reading if you are interested in our guiding ability at the end of the shutdown. Note that I keep updating this page as more information is available. If you have any comments or questions about the contents of this page, please let me know.
