ARC 3.5M SCHEDULE FOR 4th QUARTER 2005
S.Hawley, R.McMillan 11/29/05
NOTES: ***PLEASE READ***
11/29/05 - implemented time trades and assigned remaining
DD time. There is no OPEN or unscheduled DD time in the
11/29/05 version of the schedule.
10/23/05 - implemented time trades and assigned one DD half
night. There are 2 remaining unscheduled DD half nights and
no OPEN time in the 10/23/05 version of the schedule.
Except in cases where strong science drivers dictate otherwise
(a minority of cases), observing time has again been scheduled
in half night blocks.
There are 92 nights, or 184 half nights, in 4Q2005. Scheduled
engineering consists of 6 bright nights (12 half nights) of
routine EN01 time, which is 6.5% of the total. DD time
consists of 15 half nights, broken up as 6D and 9B, and
representing 8.2% of the total. The DD half nights include
time for APOLLO, CORMASS, and GFP as well as 5 discretionary
half nights for the Director.
In addition to scheduled engineering time, science observations
may be pre-empted, sometimes on short notice, for urgent
engineering tasks. Such tasks include both work that is required
to safeguard observatory personnel or facilities and that allows
"hot pursuit" of some significant problem.
Please see links off of the APO home page
(http://www.apo.nmsu.edu/)
for a web based interactive version of this schedule.
There are 3 half-nights of DD time and no OPEN time available
in the 9/12/05 version of the schedule.

MOST PROGRAMS ARE SCHEDULED IN HALF NIGHT BLOCKS. THE FIRST
HALF OF EACH NIGHT EXTENDS FROM SUNSET UNTIL 0050 MDT OR 2355
MST. THE SECOND HALF FOLLOWS UNTIL SUNRISE.
FIRST HALF IS INDICATED BELOW AS "A"; SECOND HALF AS "B".
THIS QUARTER THREE PROGRAMS USE NON-BLOCK SCHEDULING.
INSTRUMENT CHANGE TIMES ARE NOT INCLUDED BELOW BUT WILL BE INDICATED
IN THE SCHEDULE ISSUED FROM APO AND WILL BE SHARED BETWEEN ADJOINING
PROGRAMS AS USUAL.
