A new version of the 3Q2005 APO 3.5m schedule has been posted as of 8/12/05 and is appended below. This version implements time trades related to NM05 (PI Chanover). A more extensive revision of the schedule will take place by the end of the week, which will accomodate a delayed return of NICFPS to the mountain after summer engineering. Please be on the lookout for that version before Friday, and contact me immediately if there are conflicts with rescheduled NICFPS observing time. Suzanne Hawley APO 3.5m Director ----------------------------- ARC 3.5M SCHEDULE FOR 3rd QUARTER 2005 S.Hawley, R.McMillan 8/12/05 NOTES: ***PLEASE READ*** 8/12/05 - implemented time trades. No DD or OPEN time in the 8/12/05 version of the schedule. 6/29/05 - assigned OPEN and DD time. There is no remaining OPEN or DD time in the 6/29/05 version of the schedule. As usual, observing time has been scheduled in half night blocks. There are 1 half-night of OPEN time and 2 half-nights of unallocated DD time in the 6/11/05 version of the schedule. Scheduled engineering for 3Q2005 consists of 2 nights of routine EN01 time, 12 nights July 25-Aug 5 (EN02) and 12 nights Aug 15-26 (EN03) of scheduled summer shutdown for maintenance of telescope and instruments, and 3 nights of engineering time for NICFPS (EN04), thus comprising 29 nights which is 31.5% of the total (92) nights. There are also 4 half-nights of DD time, which is 2.2% of the total. In addition to scheduled engineering time, science observations may be pre-empted, sometimes on short notice, for urgent engineering or science tasks. Such tasks include both work that is required to safeguard observatory personnel or facilities and that allows "hot pursuit" of some significant science program (e.g. ARC GRB program). Please see links off of the APO home page (http://www.apo.nmsu.edu/) for a web based interactive version of this schedule. ----- EN Note: No science observations scheduled during EN time. ----- EN01 = EN01 Klae X W Routine periodic engineering time.
