ARC 3.5M SCHEDULE FOR 1st QUARTER 2005 S.Hawley, R.McMillan 1/6/05 NOTES: ***PLEASE READ*** 1/6 Note - Various requested trades and requests for OPEN time implemented. One half-night of DD time assigned to DD02. There are 2 OPEN half-nights and 2 unallocated half-nights of DD time in the present schedule. Except in cases where strong science drivers dictate otherwise (a minority of cases), observing time has again been scheduled in half night blocks. Scheduled engineering for 1Q2005 consists of 1 night of EN02 commissioning for the new NIC-FPS instrument, plus 4.5 nights of routine EN01 time. The total is thus 84.5 nights or 169 half-nights, of which 5 have been set aside for DD programs. In addition to scheduled engineering time, science observations may be pre-empted, sometimes on short notice, for urgent engineering tasks. Such tasks include both work that is required to safeguard observatory personnel or facilities and work that allows "hot pursuit" of some significant problem. Please see links off of the APO home page (http://www.apo.nmsu.edu/) for a web based interactive version of this schedule. There are 4 half-nights of OPEN time (all bright) and 3 half-nights of unallocated DD time (2 dark, 1 grey) in the present version of the schedule. ----- EN Note: No science observations scheduled during EN time. ----- EN01 = EN01 Gill X W Routine periodic engineering time.
