I was sent a note by Elvisier publishing (on the occasion of my name appearing in one of their volumes---to protect their privacy policy) about a science information website, http://www.scirus.com/, purporting to be free and to allow one to find things not available on other search engines. I typed my name in to the search window and found a number of SDSS papers, with my name listed first when it should have been last. I also found every article written by anyone named Donald that appeared in the New York times. And, I found, item no. 39, an observing proposal from July 2002 on transient sources at APO. It was evidently a copy of same I had sent to elt, from the information attached. I am sure you all have such humorous instances in your brains: I have not done much random web searching. This is definitely a low quality source of info (a comment which will no doubt appear on the site soon.) I also found a number of memos by me, on the echelle, evidently from the APO site. -- Dr. Donald G. York Horace B.
