The NA2 guider was returned to the vendor for repair of some nagging
malfunctions and glitches during the shutdown. At some point during this
process, the guider camera failed entirely, and the vendor has not yet
been able to fix, or even identify, the problem.

We thus expect to resume science operations without the use of the NA2
guider for some indeterminant period of time, hopefully to be measured in
terms of days rather than weeks. The NA1 Echelle guider is functional and
can be used to acquire a pointing model. Since DIS can be guided using
the slit viewer and GRIM2 exposures are generally too short to require
guiding, the most serious impact will be on SPIcam users who need to make
longish exposures. PIs of such programs should monitor the situation with
the NA2 guider and begin to make alternate plans if necessary.
