Due to the necessity of more extensive work on the telescope drives than
anticipated, we cannot avoid extending the summer engineering shutdown on
the 3.5m. This necessary extension is currently estimated to be one week.

Thus, the telescope will not resume scheduled science operations before
the night of August 23.

The affected programs (losing time) are UC04, UC05, DD02, UW04, UW05,
UW06, NM03, NM05, and PU01.

Schedulers and Users Cmte members are requested to make sure that affected
PIs at their institutions are aware of this message.
