The position of APO 3.5-m Director, presently held by Ed Turner, will be
open at the end of 2004.  Ed wishes to step down after three successful 
terms in that position.  A procedure for accepting nonminations and
suggestions will be in place later this summer.  We are looking for
an APO user from within the ARC consortium to fill Ed's position and who 
can overlap with Ed for as much as a year.  Watch for an announcement from 
the Board's search committee with a job description, list of 
qualifications, application procedures and other information.
