PRELIMINARY ARC 3.5M SCHEDULE FOR 4TH QUARTER 2002 E. TURNER 9/18/02 NOTES: ***PLEASE READ*** Except in cases where strong science drivers dictate otherwise (a minority of cases), observing time has again been scheduled in half night blocks. In fact, all currently scheduled science programs for this quarter are in half night blocks. Scheduled engineering time for this quarter consists of 6 nights of routine maintenance (EN01) or 6.5% of the total available time. SOMETHING NEW - In addition to EN01 time, small blocks (15-30 min, most likely) of engineering time will be inserted into scheduled science nights on an unscheduled basis to obtain S-H collimation data on the telescope. The justification and details of this engineerng project will be announced separately. In addition to scheduled engineering time, science observations may be pre-empted, sometimes on short notice, for urgent engineering tasks. Such tasks include both work that is required to safeguard observatory personnel or facilities and that allows "hot pursuit" of some significant problem. There is no OPEN time in the current schedule. Please see links off of the APO home page (http://www.apo.nmsu.edu/) for a web based interactive version of this schedule. ----- EN Note: No science observations scheduled during EN time. ----- EN01 = EN01 Gill ? THE FIRST HALF OF EACH NIGHT EXTENDS FROM -12 DEGREE EVENING TWILIGHT UNTIL 0000 MST OR 0100 MDT. THE SECOND HALF FOLLOWS UNTIL -12 DEGREE MORNING TWILIGHT. FIRST HALF IS INDICATED BELOW AS "A"; THE SECOND, AS "B". THIS QUARTER NO PROGRAMS USE NON-BLOCK SCHEDULING EXCEPT FOR THE ADLER TWILIGHT TIME. INSTRUMENT CHANGE TIMES ARE NOT INCLUDED BELOW BUT WILL BE INDICATED IN THE SCHEDULE ISSUED FROM APO AND WILL BE SHARED BETWEEN ADJOINING PROGRAMS AS USUAL. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 10/1 A: UW04 B: UW05 10/2 A: UW06 B: PU03 10/3 A: CU03 B: PU03 10/4 A: UC07[18:52-20:07]/PU04[20:07-01:00] B: PU02.S 10/5 A: CU02 B: NM03 10/6 A: CU02 B: NM03 10/7 A: DD01 B: UW05 10/8 A: PU01 B: NM05 10/9 A: PU01 B: UC05 10/10 A: UW05 B: UW05 10/11 A: UW10 B: UC05 10/12 A: UC05 B: UC05 10/13 A: UW04 B: NM05 10/14 A: JH04 B: UC03 10/15 A: JH04 B: UC03 10/16 A: UW04 B: UC03 10/17 A: PU06 B: PU06 10/18 A: UC01 B: UC03 10/19 A: PU06 B: PU06 10/20 A: PU06 B: PU06 10/21 A: EN01 B: EN01 10/22 A: EN01 B: EN01 10/23 A: UW04 B: PU08 10/24 A: UC01 B: PU08 10/25 A: UC01 B: PU08 10/26 A: CU04 B: CU04 10/27 A: UW04 B: PU07 10/28 A: JH03 B: JH03 10/29 A: JH03 B: JH03 10/30 A: UW01 B: UW01 10/31 A: UW01 B: UW01 11/1 A: UC07[17:22-18:37]/UW04[18:37-00:00] B: PU01 11/2 A: UC04 B: UC04 11/3 A: UC04 B: UC04 11/4 A: DD01 B: UC04 11/5 A: UC04 B: UC04 11/6 A: UC04 B: UC04 11/7 A: PU03 B: UC04 11/8 A: UW04 B: UC04 11/9 A: DD02 B: CU03 11/10 A: DD02 B: PU02.D 11/11 A: UW09 B: PU02.D 11/12 A: UW04 B: UC06 11/13 A: DD02 B: DD02 11/14 A: UW07 B: DD02 11/15 A: UC01 B: UC01 11/16 A: NM02 B: NM02 11/17 A: NM02 B: NM02 11/18 A: NM02 B: NM02 11/19 A: EN01 B: EN01 11/20 A: EN01 B: EN01 11/21 A: UW04 B: CU01 11/22 A: UC01 B: CU01 11/23 A: UW03 B: UW03 11/24 A: UW03 B: UW03 11/25 A: UW04 B: UC06 11/26 A: UW07 B: UC06 11/27 A: UW06 B: NM03 11/28 A: UC06 B: NM03 11/29 A: UW04 B: NM03 11/30 A: UW07 B: NM03 12/1 A: UW02 B: PU01 12/2 A: DD01 B: UW05 12/3 A: UW02 B: NM04 12/4 A: UW02 B: NM04 12/5 A: UW02 B: NM04 12/6 A: UC07[17:10-18:25]/UW04[18:25-00:00] B: NM05 12/7 A: PU03 B: NM05 12/8 A: PU05 B: NM06 12/9 A: PU05 B: NM06 12/10 A: UC05 B: UC05 12/11 A: UW04 B: UW05 12/12 A: UW07 B: NM01 12/13 A: PU04 B: NM01 12/14 A: JH02.G B: NM01 12/15 A: JH02.G B: NM01 12/16 A: JH02.G B: NM01 12/17 A: UW04 B: UC01 12/18 A: EN01 B: EN01 12/19 A: EN01 B: EN01 12/20 A: PU04 B: UC01 12/21 A: JH05 B: UC01 12/22 A: UW10 B: UW04 12/23 A: UW09 B: UC06 12/24 A: UW04 B: UW10 12/25 A: UW02 B: UW04 12/26 A: UW08 B: UC06 12/27 A: UW04 B: UC06 12/28 A: UW06 B: UW06 12/29 A: JH02.D B: CU05 12/30 A: JH02.D B: CU05 12/31 A: JH02.D B: UC06 APO APO APO APO APO Apache Point Observatory 3.5m APO APO APO APO APO This is message 607 in the apo35-general archive.
