Dear colleagues-
Just a quick note on SPIcam. The default binning is 2 x 2,
which gives a plate scale of (2x0.14) ~ 0.28 arcsec effective
pixels.
We're been running a program that requires short exposures and
have been running the camera binned 3 x 3 for (3x0.14)~0.42 arcsec
pixels. THe readout time is considerably shorter and sampling is
good enough.
To run in this mode, type
rebin 3 3
at the spicam promopt.
Of course, you'll need flats in this mode as well..
