All:

Ed Turner and I are sending this late, last request for science
programs to run on the 3.5-meter telescope on New Year's Eve, this
Friday night.

 From roughly 9 pm MST through the rest of the night, the telescope is
presently unallocated. The weather forecast is good, and the
telescope and instruments are all behaving well. The moon rises
about 2:30 AM, so much of this time is dark and the rest grey.

Service observing requests are fine (possibly the only observing mode
if there are telecommunication problems related to Y2K). Also, this
time will be assigned as Director's Discretionary time, so no
institutional allocations will be impacted.

Send your requests directly to me (gillespi@apo.nmsu.edu) and Ed
Turner (elt@astro.princeton.edu, and also at elt49@yahoo.com) as soon
as possible.

best regards, and happy holidays;

Bruce Gillespie, and Ed Turner
