The new target date for resumption of 3.5m science operations is
the night of December 17 (civil time). If progress is faster than
expected, it is possible that the science program currently scheduled
for December 15 might be executed on December 16, which is currently
a regularly scheduled engineering night. If so, affected PIs and
observers will be contacted as far in advance as possible.

All procurements and almost all bench development/engineering work
for the new secondary and tertiary mounting and glass safety mechanisms
is complete. The remaining tasks are installation, re-assembly and
on-sky commissioning. Although further unexpected problems are
certainly still possible, they are probably less likely in these
final steps back toward operational status.
