Due to previously announced circumstances (see apo35-general
archive message #366 for details), the long term engineering
shutdown originally scheduled to start on Aug. 16 will instead
begin on Aug. 9, one week early. All science operations for
the week of Aug. 9-15, inclusive, are therefore canceled.

The final scheduled night of this shutdown remains Sept. 12
(with science operations set to begin on the night of Sept. 13).

It is hoped that this early start will have the desirable
side effect of improving the chances that we can return to
science operations on schedule.

Institutional Schedulers and/or User Cmte. members, please
help make sure that the PIs and observers of any of your
programs affected by this schedule change are aware of it.

A new schedule reflecting this change will be issued shortly.
