This message is being sent to all listed contacts for APO 3.5m science
programs scheduled for Dec. 3-19 (inclusive) plus institutional schedulers
and apo35-general in order to notify you of the possibility of very short
lead time pre-empts (schedule changes) which may be necessary in connection
with either Echelle installation/commissioning activities or support of
an expected WSMR mission. The situation at the site is now quite complex
due to Echelle installation constrained by UC personnel travel schedules, the
upcoming WSMR mission (their first in ages), intensive SDSS work including
re-aluminization of the 2.5m primary, the holidays, winter weather, etc. We
will do our best to carry out all scheduled science programs and to give as
much advance warning as possible of any cancelations or changes, of course.
The chance of schedule pre-empts currently appears to be particulary high
during the week beginning Dec. 13th.
