We have just submitted a proposal to NSF to upgrade the DIS
detectors.  A copy of the proposal text may be found on my home page:

also note on that page a set of plots of the seeing history
from the various APO instruments.  These plots clearly show
the ongoing improvements in the measured seeing, a reflection
of the success of work on the telescope!
