REVISED ARC 3.5M SCHEDULE FOR 3RD QUARTER 1998 E. TURNER 7/22/98 NOTES: ***PLEASE READ*** This revised schedul assigns some, but not all, of the available OPEN time from the preliminary schedule and corrects the errors I made in assigning time to WS01, UW04 and DD02. There are changes from the preliminary schedule on the following dates: 7/31, 8/2, 8/4, 8/6, 8/9, 8/10, 8/28, 8/29, 8/30, 8/31, 9/1, 9/2, 9/8, 9/9 and 9/12. Eight OPEN half nights remain. All are bright and seven of the eight fall between 8/4B and 8/10A, inclusive. The remaining one is 8/31A. Requests for this OPEN time should reach me as soon as possible and by 7/31 at the latest. IMPORTANT NOTE The web and hardcopy versions of this schedule are not yet available and will be announced separately when they are ready. ----- EN Note: No science observations scheduled during EN time. ----- EN00 = Maintenance shutdown (Gillespie) EN01 = Periodic engineering time (Gillespie) EN02 = Tertiary rotation project (Stubbs) ----- DD Note: Director's Discretionary Time (3%) ----- DD01 = 983DD01 UWGRB S R Time will be allocated to compensate programs pre-empted by GRB chases. Data available to all interested parties within ARC. DD02 = 983DD02 York ? R Adler Planetarium public outreach event. Please send a copy of the program description on the standard ASCII template to me at your earliest convenience. ----- JHU Note: 67% of nominal share scheduled. Priority too low for effective scheduling of a monitoring program. Best available time scheduled. Please contact APO techstaff well in advance concerning twilight use of telescope. This can often but not always be supported and should not be assumed. UW11 = UW11 Stub D&S R (gratings??) Not scheduled. Time available at this priority violates all of the preferences stated under special requirements. OPEN time in August available if it would be useful. UW12 = UW12 Bali D R (low, high) Not scheduled. Requested time not available at this priority. OPEN time in August available if it would be useful. UW13 = UW13 Rodg D&G ? (gratings??) THE FIRST HALF OF EACH NIGHT EXTENDS FROM EVENING TWILIGHT (SEE CALENDAR DISTRIBUTED BY GRETCHEN) UNTIL 0110 MDT. FIRST HALF IS INDICATED BELOW AS "A"; THE SECOND HALF THEN EXTENDS UNTIL MORNING TWILIGHT AND IS INDICATED BELOW AS "B". THIS QUARTER THREE DIFFERENT PROGRAMS USE NON-BLOCK SCHEDULING. THESE PROGRAMS ARE INDICATED IN PARENTHESES () ON THE SCHEDULE AND THEIR TIME ALLOTMENTS ARE LISTED HERE: JH01 = 120 MIN EACH TIME IT IS SCHEDULED. PU01 = 50 MIN EACH TIME IT IS SCHEDULED. UW10 = 90 MIN PLUS APPROXIMATELY 60 MIN OF ADJOINING TWILIGHT EACH TIME IT IS SCHEDULED. INSTRUMENT CHANGE TIMES ARE NOT INCLUDED BELOW BUT WILL BE INDICATED IN THE SCHEDULE ISSUED FROM APO BY GRETCHEN AND WILL BE SHARED BETWEEN ADJOINING PROGRAMS AS USUAL. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 7/1 A: WS01 B: WS01/(PU01) 7/2 A: UC01 B: WS01 7/3 A: UC01 B: UC01/(PU01) 7/4 A: NM06 B: NM06 7/5 A: NM08 B: NM08/(PU01) 7/6 A: EN00 B: EN00 7/7 A: EN00 B: EN00 7/8 A: EN00 B: EN00 7/9 A: EN00 B: EN00 7/10 A: EN00 B: EN00 7/11 A: EN00 B: EN00 7/12 A: EN00 B: EN00 7/13 A: EN00 B: EN00 7/14 A: EN00 B: EN00 7/15 A: EN00 B: EN00 7/16 A: EN00 B: EN00 7/17 A: EN00 B: EN00 7/18 A: EN00 B: EN00 7/19 A: EN00 B: EN00 7/20 A: EN00 B: EN00 7/21 A: EN00 B: EN00 7/22 A: EN00 B: EN00 7/23 A: EN00 B: EN00 7/24 A: EN00 B: EN00 7/25 A: EN00 B: EN00 7/26 A: EN00 B: EN00 7/27 A: EN00 B: EN00 7/28 A: EN00 B: EN00 7/29 A: EN00 B: EN00 7/30 A: EN00 B: EN00 7/31 A: DD02 B: EN00 8/1 A: JH02 B: UW03/(PU01) 8/2 A: JH01[21:34-00:20]/PU01[00:20-01:10] B: UW09 8/3 A: UW08 B: UW09 8/4 A: JH01[21:32-00:20]/PU01[00:20-01:10] B: OPEN 8/5 A: EN01 B: EN01 8/6 A: NM06 B: UW13/(PU01) 8/7 A: OPEN B: OPEN 8/8 A: OPEN B: OPEN/(PU01) 8/9 A: WS01 B: OPEN 8/10 A: OPEN B: UW13/(PU01) 8/11 A: EN01 B: EN01 8/12 A: UC03 B: (PU01)/UW03 8/13 A: UC01 B: UC01 8/14 A: UC03 B: (PU01)/UW03 8/15 A: UC05 B: UW07 8/16 A: UC05 B: (PU01)/UW07 8/17 A: UC05 B: UW06 8/18 A: UC05 B: (PU01)/UC01 8/19 A: (UW10)/NM02 B: UC01 8/20 A: UW05 B: (PU01)/UW05 8/21 A: UW05 B: UW05 8/22 A: UW05 B: (PU01)/UC01 8/23 A: NM05 B: UW03 8/24 A: NM05/(PU01) B: UW03 8/25 A: (UW10)/NM02 B: UW03 8/26 A: UC03/(PU01) B: UW07 8/27 A: UC03 B: UW06 8/28 A: UW10[19:59-00:20]/PU01[00:20-01:10] B: UW07 8/29 A: NM04 B: (PU01)/DD01 8/30 A: UW04 B: UW04 8/31 A: OPEN/(PU01) B: NM03 9/1 A: NM01 B: NM03 9/2 A: NM01 B: (PU01)/UW13 9/3 A: EN01 B: EN01 9/4 A: UW08/(PU01) B: UW08 9/5 A: EN02 B: EN02 9/6 A: EN02 B: EN02 9/7 A: EN02 B: EN02 9/8 A: NM07 B: (PU01)/WS01 9/9 A: NM07 B: (PU01)/UW13 9/10 A: EN01 B: EN01 9/11 A: PU02/(PU01) B: PU02 9/12 A: (UW10)/PU02 B: (PU01)/WS01 9/13 A: PU02 B: UW06 9/14 A: PU02/(PU01) B: NM03 9/15 A: PU02 B: NM03 9/16 A: PU02/(PU01) B: NM03 9/17 A: (UW10)/PU02 B: UC02 9/18 A: DD01/(PU01) B: UC02 9/19 A: UC01 B: UC01 9/20 A: UW09/(PU01) B: UW06 9/21 A: NM01 B: UW01 9/22 A: (PU01)/JH04 B: UW01 9/23 A: (PU01)/PU02 B: UW02 9/24 A: PU02 B: UW02 9/25 A: (PU01)/PU02 B: NM02 9/26 A: (UW10)/NM09 B: NM02 9/27 A: (PU01)/NM09 B: JH04 9/28 A: DD01 B: JH04 9/29 A: (PU01)/DD01 B: JH03 9/30 A: DD01 B: DD01 APO APO APO APO APO Apache Point Observatory 3.5m APO APO APO APO APO This is message 287 in the apo35-general archive.
