Subject: new Director of the 3.5m Telescope

As many of you know, Ed Turner has been scheduled to become Director of the
3.5m telescope in May 1996. Recently Don York requested that the ARC Board
consider speeding the transition. This seemed sensible to all parties
concerned, especially due to the pressures of Sloan work, and so the Board
has approved this transition effective immediately.

Congratulations to Ed, and our heartfelt thanks to Don.
