The schedule has actually been up on the web for the past week, sorry for
the late notice. For schedule changes (including time trades, ToOs,
and open/DD requests) during Q3, please contact Russet McMillan, Mark
Klaene and Rene Walterbos (copied above) as I will be out of the office
and unavailable starting June 25 until mid-August.

ARC 3.5M SCHEDULE FOR 3rd QUARTER 2012
S.Hawley, R.McMillan 06/12/2012
NOTES: ***PLEASE READ***
Except in cases where strong science drivers dictate otherwise
(a minority of cases), observing time has again been scheduled
in half night blocks.
There are 92 nights, or 184 half nights, in 3Q2012. Summer
shutdown (EN02) is scheduled for 18 nights (36 half nights)
from July 23 - Aug 9. Regular engineering (EN01) time is
scheduled for 4 nights (8 half nights), all bright.
Engineering time thus takes 44 half nights in Q3, broken down
as 34B, 4G, 6D, and comprising 23.9% of the total. DD time
consists of 10 half nights, 5.4% of the total. Computing
184 - 44 - 10 leaves 130 half nights for allocation by the
institutions, which break down as 48B, 21G and 61D.
In addition to scheduled engineering time, science
observations may be pre-empted, sometimes on short notice, for
urgent engineering tasks. Such tasks include both work that
is required to safeguard observatory personnel or facilities
and that allows "hot pursuit" of some significant problem.
Please see links off of the APO home page (http://www.apo.nmsu.edu/)
for a web based interactive version of this schedule.
There are 5 half nights of DD (DD03) time and 4 (2 partial) half
nights of OPEN time in the initial version of the Q3 2012 schedule.

MOST PROGRAMS ARE SCHEDULED IN HALF NIGHT BLOCKS. THE FIRST
HALF OF EACH NIGHT EXTENDS FROM SUNSET UNTIL 0110 MDT. THE
SECOND HALF FOLLOWS UNTIL SUNRISE.
FIRST HALF IS INDICATED BELOW AS "A"; THE SECOND, AS "B".
THIS QUARTER SEVEN PROGRAMS USE NON-BLOCK SCHEDULING.
INSTRUMENT CHANGE TIMES ARE NOT INCLUDED BELOW BUT WILL BE INDICATED
IN THE SCHEDULE ISSUED FROM APO AND WILL BE SHARED BETWEEN ADJOINING
PROGRAMS AS USUAL.
