The utility power is out in nearly all of otero county . Power is
expected to be out for days and possibly a week due to the main
transmission line being down
we currently have emergency power at the observatory however I can not
guarantee that we can sustain that for the duration.
We have a replacement part for the generator on order but delivery
is a few days out. I also only have 2 days of diesel on hand
Observing can not resume until power is restored and so we are going
to start graceful shutdown on some systems in order to try and
maintain critical systems up as long as possible
