ARC 3.5M SCHEDULE FOR 2nd QUARTER 2009 S.Hawley, R.McMillan 3/11/09 NOTES: ***PLEASE READ*** Except in cases where strong science drivers dictate otherwise (a minority of cases), observing time has again been scheduled in half night blocks. There are 91 nights, or 182 half nights, in 2Q2009. Scheduled engineering (routine EN01) time consists of 7 nights, or 14 half nights, all bright, comprising 7.7% of the total. DD time consists of 12 half nights, divided as 5B, 2G, 5D, representing 6.6% of the total. Computing 182 - 14 - 12 leaves 156 half nights for allocation by the institutions, which break down as 66B, 24G and 66D. In addition to scheduled engineering time, science observations may be pre-empted, sometimes on short notice, for urgent engineering tasks. Such tasks include both work that is required to safeguard observatory personnel or facilities and that allows "hot pursuit" of some significant problem. Please see links off of the APO home page (http://www.apo.nmsu.edu/) for a web based interactive version of this schedule. There are 7 half-nights of OPEN time and 5 half-nights of unallocated DD time (DD05) in the 3/11/09 version of the schedule. ----- EN Note: No science observations scheduled during EN time. ----- EN01 = EN01 Klae X W Routine periodic engineering time. ----- DD Note: Director's Discretionary Time ----- DD01 = Q209DD01 Murp A O DD02 = Q209DD02 Wood FD O DD03 = Q209DD03 Wood F O DD04 = Q209DD04 Frin E R DD05 = DD05 TBD TBD TBD ----- CU Note: 12.5% share ----- CU01 = CU01 Snow E R CU02 = CU02 Keen S R CU03.T = CU03 Yan T R CU03.N = CU03 Yan N R CU04 = CU04 Darl N R CU05 = CU05 Fran D R (B400+R300) Granted an extra half-night to compensate for loss to CU06 CU06 = CU06 CU06 S R Apr dark first halves heavily oversubscribed; could only schedule one night at this priority CU07 = CU07 Moe T R CU08 = CU08 Khar N R CU09 = CU09 Wint N R ----- JHU Note: 8.0% share ----- JH01 = JH01 Roge N R JH02.S = JH02 Bhat S R JH02.D = JH02 Bhat D R (B1200+R1200) JH03 = JH03 Mora D R (B400+R300) JH04 = JH04 McCa D R (B400+R300) JH05.F = JH05 Will F O JH05.D = JH05 Will D R (B1200+R1200) JH06 = JH06 Hube D R ----- NMSU Note: 15.625% share ----- NM01 = NM01 Chan P R NM02 = NM02 Born N R NM03 = NM03 Mill P O NM04 = NM04 Holt D R (B1200+R1200) Apr dark first halves heavily oversubscribed; some time scheduled in May instead.
