ARC 3.5M SCHEDULE FOR 4th QUARTER 2007 S.Hawley, R.McMillan 11/29/07 NOTES: ***PLEASE READ*** 11/29/07: assigned all remaining OPEN and DD time, and incorporated several time trades. There is no OPEN or DD time remaining in the 11/29/07 version of the schedule. 9/19/07: assigned some OPEN time, fixed minor errors. There are 1 half-night of OPEN time and 3 half-nights of unallocated DD time (DD04) in the 9/19/07 version of the schedule. Except in cases where strong science drivers dictate otherwise (a minority of cases), observing time has again been scheduled in half night blocks. There are 92 nights, or 184 half nights, in 4Q2007. Scheduled engineering time consists of 8 nights, or 16 half nights, all bright, comprising 8.7% of the total and including instrument engineering for NICFPS etalon testing and Triplespec initial commissioning. DD time consists of 12 half nights, representing 6.5% of the total. Computing 184 - 16 - 12 leaves 156 half nights for allocation by the institutions, which break down as 54B, 29G and 73D. In addition to scheduled engineering time, science observations may be pre-empted, sometimes on short notice, for urgent engineering tasks. Such tasks include both work that is required to safeguard observatory personnel or facilities and that allows "hot pursuit" of some significant problem. Please see links off of the APO home page (http://www.apo.nmsu.edu/) for a web based interactive version of this schedule. There are 4 half-nights of OPEN time and 3 half-nights of unscheduled DD04 time in the 9/7/07 version of the schedule. ----- EN Note: No science observations scheduled during EN time. ----- EN01 = EN01 Klae X W Routine periodic engineering time.
