Subject: Observatory phone number change

Effective October 7th 2007 the area code for Apache Point Observatory 
will change to 575.

Both the new 575 area code and the previous (505)  area code will 
work for the next year, after which you will have to use  575 437 
6822 to reach the observatory. The area code change also affects the 
fax and modem lines.

Additionally, all site staff  with New Mexico home and cellular phone 
numbers  currently starting with the 505 area code will change to 575 
except French Leger.

Only Albuquerque /Santa Fe and north west New Mexico will keep the 
current 505 area code.
