THIS IS JOSHUA GREEN'S WEBSITE! |
Welcome to my website.
In the fall of 2004, I began graduate work in the Astrophysical Sciences Department at Princeton University. I am currently working with Michael Strauss to search for Type II quasars in the latest SDSS data, following the work of Nadia Zakamska. Although my status as a student has ended, this work is ongoing, with various aspects being taken up by others. Upon completion of this work, I will receive a master's degree in astrophysics.
While studying here, I have given various talks. "Abstracts" (more like advertisements) and PowerPoint slides can be found here.
During my free time, my main hobby is playing chess (my current USCF rating is 2046), and I also enjoy composing chess problems (last updated March 14, 2007). I have been trying to learn bridge and have been playing a small amount of Texas Hold'em. I've been dancing quite a bit as well as singing karaoke. Also, over the summers, I've played in the university's softball league (designed to keep the graduate students occupied).
One place at which I dance and sing is the DBar, found in the basement of the Graduate College. The DBar's karaoke song list can now be found here as a web page, here as a text file, here as a PDF file, and here as an Excel spreadsheet.
Another place is Ivy Inn. Their karaoke is run by DJ Rock ‘N Ron and (a proper subset of) his song list can be found here and searched here.

I have a Facebook profile and a MySpace profile, each of which you might enjoy checking out.
I have a LiveJournal blog which will be semi-regularly updated. You can subscribe to its RSS or Atom feed by going here or here, respectively.
I have had various punny conversations with Grayson Williams over AIM that can be found here.
Math jokes/puns, some of which I tortured my calculus students with, can be found here.
Enjoy!
I guess I might as well link to this video.
Here are some brainteasers (found by Conrad Goodman) which you might enjoy trying to solve. (Last updated January 22, 2005.)
During the spring semester of 2001, I was an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for the MATH 215 section taught by Dr. John Brillhart.

During the fall semester of 2000, I was an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for the MATH 129 sections taught by Dr. Fred Stevenson.

These are a few of my favorite links. Drop me a line if you want your site added or removed or if you have any recommendations.
