Directions from Princeton to EMCFW

1. Take route 206 north from Princeton.

2. Shortly after you pass the Princeton Airport, turn left onto route
518 west / Georgetown-Franklin Turnpike.

3. In the town of Hopewell, make a soft right at a stop light to stay
on route 518 west. The street sign will also say Louellen St., and an
arrow will indicate that this road goes to Lambertville.

4. Turn right onto route 31 north.

5. Take the entrance ramp onto I-78 west.

6. Take exit 15, toward route 173 east / Clinton, NJ. It's the first
exit after you get on I-78.

7. At the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto route 513.

8. The entrance to EMCFW is on your right immediately after you go
under the overpass.

Scenic route to Edna Mahan
----------------------------------


Basically this route is a close to "straight as the crow flies" as you
can get. It goes through Hopewell and Flemington to Clinton.  DON'T
try it for the first or even third time without a good map of Mercer and
Hunterdon counties. It has no main roads and is suitable for autophobes.


1. Princeton - Hopewell:

Nassau St - Witherspoon: turn right
Witherspoon - Paul Robeson Place (first light): turn left
Cross 206, right on Library Place, left onto Cleveland
Right on Elm Rd. It becomes Great Road.
Great Road to Blauwenberg. Turn left on 518
518 into Hopewell. Turn right on Greenwood Ave (light)

Greenwood Ave runs roughly north. It becomes Hopewell-Wertsville Rd, then 
Rileyville Rd, Hunterdon County road 607.

Hopewell-Flemington:

Go along 607 to the end. Turn right on 602. After a short stretch, about
600 m, take the first left onto 609.
Take 609 all the way to the end. Left turn on 514. Immediate right on 613 
(this is a turn of about 110 degrees instead of 90). Immediate left onto 
Barley Sheaf Rd.

After about 1500 m, you come to a light. Turn left onto Voorhees Corner
Rd. This takes you into Flemington. Cross Case Blvd (light), cross
202 (light, cross 31 (light). Cross Broad St (light). Turn right
on Main St (light). This takes you through Flemington. As you're leaving
Flemington, take the left fork (West Main St) which becomes 617.

Flemington - Edna Mahan:

617 basically takes you there. There's one slightly tricky bit where 612
comes in from the right - it's like a T junction. Take the left turn,
which is still 617. 

617 dead-ends on 513. Turn right. You'll see signs to I78. Just before 78,
make a left turn into the access road to the prison. There's a light, and
a lot of oncoming traffic spilling off 78.

This route takes about 55 min and usually has almost no traffic. It's
very pretty, especially north of Hopewell.
