The goal of Wunch talks is to encourage the
interaction of Peyton and Jadwin residents in their scientific areas of
interest. In addition, it should give everybody (students in particular) a
chance to present their research without having to travel hundreds of
miles to another institution. Visitors are also welcome to give talks.
The talks are held in room 33 (Old Tea Room, in the basement of Peyton Hall)
on Wednesdays, at
12:30pm. They are rather informal, so leave time for questions throughout.
Most importantly, everybody is supposed to eat
lunch through the talk! From this
old tradition comes the name Wunch. The
traditional food of Wunch is made of (sort of) healthy hoagies from Hoagie Haven that you can order by following the instructions on the
order food
webpage.
For those who are interested in giving a Wunch Talk, first look at
the current schedule, pick one to four empty dates that are comfortable for you and send them to
me.
I will rapidly respond to your e-mail to confirm
your date.
It is a good idea to send the title of your talk a week before it.
It is the only way you will make sure it is properly advertised in the weekly
talks announcement sent to people with interests in astrophysics in
the Princeton area.
Finally, you should send me an abstract for your talk at least two
days before your scheduled performance.
A few rules apply:
1. First come, first served.
2. Priority goes to those who have not given a talk recently.
3. There should be an almost equal number of talks for faculty, postdocs
and students.
You now know everything about Wunch! So,
go grab an empty slot for your chance to give a
Wunch Talk in this semester.
If you have any questions/feedback/problems, do not hesitate to contact me.
