High-z Type Ia Supernova Discoveries

As an undergraduate, I participated in the search for high-redshift Type Ia supernovae with the High-z Supernova Search Team.  These events are fairly homogeneous and can be used as cosmological candles to measure distances in the Universe.  Using several telescopes in Hawaii, the group had a particularly successful supernova search in 1999, during which I identified nine new Type Ia supernovae.
