TRAVEL AND DIRECTIONS

Peyton Hall is located on Ivy Lane, just off of Washington Road.
See campus map: http://www.princeton.edu/pr/facts/map+key.pdf
(Peyton is in grid H4 on the map.)

BY PLANE
The most convenient airports to Princeton are:

  • Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), which is 40 miles north
From Newark Airport, take either the Airporter Shuttle to Princeton or the AirTrain from the terminal to the NJ Transit Northeast Corridor Line train to Princeton. (Note that taking NJ transit from Newark airport is generally faster and less expensive than the Airporter, but requires transferring trains.)
  • Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), which is 55 miles south
From Philadelphia International Airport, take either the Septa R7 Regional Rail Line train to the NJ Transit Northeast Corridor Line or take A1 Limo to Princeton

The two large airports in New York City (east of Manhattan) take substantially more time to reach by car or public transportation from Princeton. They are:
  • John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK);
  • LaGuardia International Airport (LGA).

    BY TRAIN
From New York and points north

  • NJ Transit via the Northeast Corridor Line from Newark Airport or New York Penn Station to Princeton Junction Station. Then transfer to the Princeton shuttle train "The Dinky" to Princeton Station
  • Amtrak from New York Penn Station to Princeton Junction Station (Note that Amtrak is faster than NJ Transit, but also substantially more expensive, and not all trains stop at Princeton Junction Station.)

    From Philadelphia and points south

  • NJ Transit via the Northeast Corridor Line from Trenton to Princeton Junction Station. Then transfer to the Princeton shuttle train "The Dinky" to Princeton Station.
  • SEPTA via the R7 Regional Rail Line to Trenton. Then transfer to NJ Transit
  • Amtrak from Philadelphia's 30th Street Station to Princeton Junction Station (Note that Amtrak is faster than NJ Transit, but also substantially more expensive, and not all trains stop at Princeton Junction Station.)

    BY CAR
    From the north/New York City
Take the NJ Turnpike south to Exit 9 (New Brunswick). After the toll booths, take the first right turn onto the ramp for Route 18 north. Soon after you enter Route 18, take the left side of a fork in the road, staying in the right lane. Immediately bear right for an exit to U.S. Route 1 south/Trenton. Drive south on Route 1 for about 17 miles to Harrison Street. Make a right onto Harrison and go about 1 mile up Harrison Street. Turn left onto Western Way. Pass the athletic fields and stadium on the left. Peyton Hall is on your left just after the stadium.

    From the West
Drive east on Interstate 78 into New Jersey. Exit onto southbound Interstate 287 (toward Somerville). Follow signs for Routes 202/206 south. Go south on 202 for a short distance and then follow signs to 206 south, which will take you around a traffic circle. Go south on 206 for about 18 miles to Nassau Street (Route 27) in the center of Princeton. Turn left onto Nassau Street, and follow it to the third traffic light. Turn right onto Washington Road. At the light, turn left onto Prospect Street.  Turn right onto Roper Lane, which looks like a driveway and is marked by a stone stating the street name (if you pass Olden Lane, you just missed Roper.)  Follow the driveway down past parking lots on your left and right.  When you see the stadium and tigers ahead of you, turn right. Peyton Hall is the first building on the left

Alternative from the WEST: Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike east to the exit for Route 1 north. Travel on Route 1 north for approximately 23 miles. (When you cross into New Jersey, there will be a small toll fee on the bridge.) Take the Washington Road exit via the jug-handle and proceed up Washington Road to the third traffic light which is Prospect Street. Make a right onto Prospect. Turn right onto Roper Lane, which looks like a driveway and is marked by a stone stating the street name (if you pass Olden Lane, you just missed Roper.)  Follow the driveway down past parking lots on your left and right.  When you see the stadium and tigers ahead of you, turn right. Peyton Hall is the first building on the left.

    From the South
If you are coming from southern New Jersey, we recommend that you take Interstate 295 north (instead of the New Jersey Turnpike), exiting at Route 1 north (exit 67). Travel about four miles north on Route 1 to the Washington Road exit via the jug-handle. Proceed up Washington Road to the third traffic light which is Prospect Street.

    From the East
Take Interstate 195 west (toward Trenton) to the exit for Interstate 295 north. Drive seven miles to the exit for Route 1 north (exit 67). Travel about four miles north on Route 1 to the Washington Road exit via the jug-handle. Proceed up Washington Road to the third traffic light which is Prospect Street.

    From the Philadelphia area
Take Interstate 95 north into New Jersey and exit at Route 1 north (exit 67). Travel about four miles north on Route 1 to the Washington Road exit via the jug-handle. Proceed up Washington Road to the third traffic light which is Prospect Street.
