The "New" IRAM Plateau de Bure Interferometer
With the track extension completed in 2005 and the New Generation
Receivers, which were successfully installed at the end of 2006, the
IRAM Plateau de Bure Interferometer offers entirely new possibilities
in terms of angular resolution and sensitivities. This talk will
present the main characteristics of the 'new' Plateau de Bure
interferometer and illustrate its renewed possibilities on the basis
of a number of recent results spanning the range from galactic star
forming regions to the most distant known black holes. Plans for
future extensions at IRAM will be briefly presented.
