   	       ARC 3.5M SCHEDULE FOR 2nd QUARTER 2005
                      S.Hawley, R.McMillan 4/5/05

 			NOTES: ***PLEASE READ***

4/5/05 - implemented various trades. One half night of
unassigned DD time remains in the 4/5/05 version of the
         schedule.

3/23/05 - assigned some OPEN and DD time, implemented some
trades. There are 2 DD half nights remaining in the 3/23/05
         version of the schedule.

Except in cases where strong science drivers dictate otherwise
(a minority of cases), observing time has again been scheduled
 	in half night blocks.

Scheduled engineering for 2Q2005 consists of 3 nights of routine
EN01 time, 5 nights of scheduled engineering shutdown for
telescope drive maintenance (EN02) and 2 nights of engineering
commissioning for the FP in NIC-FPS (EN03), totalling 10 nights,
or 11% of the total 91 nights. There are 7 half-nights of DD time,
and 155 half-nights of regularly scheduled observing.

In addition to scheduled engineering time, science observations
may be pre-empted, sometimes on short notice, for urgent
engineering tasks. Such tasks include both work that is required
to safeguard observatory personnel or facilities and that allows
"hot pursuit" of some significant problem. The latter includes
the ARC GRB ToO program (see programs UC01, JH01, UW01, CU06).
For details on this program, contact institutional users committee
representatives who have copies of the program document.

Please see links off of the APO home page (http://www.apo.nmsu.edu/)
for a web based interactive version of this schedule.

There are 4 half-nights of OPEN time and 3 half-nights of
unallocated DD time in the 3/11 version of the schedule.

 	SECOND HALF FOLLOWS UNTIL SUNRISE.

FIRST HALF IS INDICATED BELOW AS "A"; THE SECOND, AS "B".

THIS QUARTER TWO PROGRAMS USE NON-BLOCK SCHEDULING.

INSTRUMENT CHANGE TIMES ARE NOT INCLUDED BELOW BUT WILL BE INDICATED
IN THE SCHEDULE ISSUED FROM APO AND WILL BE SHARED BETWEEN ADJOINING
 	PROGRAMS AS USUAL.
