NICFPS is at APO and has been mounted on the telescope's NA2 port; it is
expected to see first light on the sky within a week, weather permitting.
The instrument will return to Colorado for additional work following these
preliminary trials and then come back to APO for extensive commissioning
beginning in November, according to current plans.
