The "missing quadrant" problem which GRIM2 has displayed intermitently in
the past has returned and has been very severe recently, making the
instrument nearly unusable for the past couple of nights. Consequently
the instrument is being taken out of service for attempted repairs until
further notice. GRIM2 is next scheduled contingently (i.e., along with
another instrument) until Oct 23 and is not the exclusive scheduled
instrument again until Nov 3. Return of the instrument to service by
those dates will be attempted, of course. Updates will be posted to
apo35-general.
