Due to problems with the recently rebuilt and re-installed alt drive,
science operations are canceled for Saturday night, Aug 23 (affecting PU02
and UW06). Science operations on Sunday night, Aug 24 (PU02 and UC02) are
also definitely in jeopardy but are still a possibility. Observers for
those programs should stay in contact with APO staff over the weekend to
monitor the situation.

As the source of the alt drive problem is not yet definitively diagnosed
and the azi drive has yet to be tested, it is also possible that the
shutdown will extend beyond the weekend. Potentially affected programs
(JH03 and UC03 at least) should also monitor the situation and look for
further updates.
