Dear colleagues- Just a quick note on SPIcam. The default binning is 2 x 2, which gives a plate scale of (2x0.14) ~ 0.28 arcsec effective pixels. We're been running a program that requires short exposures and have been running the camera binned 3 x 3 for (3x0.14)~0.42 arcsec pixels. THe readout time is considerably shorter and sampling is good enough. To run in this mode, type rebin 3 3 at the spicam promopt. Of course, you'll need flats in this mode as well.. chris APO APO APO APO APO Apache Point Observatory 3.5m APO APO APO APO APO This is message 528 in the apo35-general archive.
