I'd vote for aligning bad columns such that they would wipe out a
column in the spatial direction. One can always move objects so as to
avoid a bad column or two.

While we are on the subject, let me ask a few questions that I have
been meaning to ask. Are any changes going to be made to the optics?
Specifically, 1) is the blue wavelength cutoff going to be fixed, 2)
would it be possible to change the spatial resolution to 0.4" to match
SDSS, and 3) can we increase the number of pixels per resolution
element?

Thanks,

Gordon Richards
