REVISED ARC 3.5M SCHEDULE FOR 3RD QUARTER 1999 E. TURNER 7/2/99 NOTES: ***PLEASE READ*** This schedule revision includes a moderately complicated set of switches involving the nights of July 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 25, 26 and 30 as well as those of August 2 and 3. The affected programs include UW03, WS02, UW10, NM06, EN03, JH01, UC03, UW02, PU02, JH02, EN02, PU03 and PU04...in roughly that order. The scheduling of all programs is still consistent with their stated constraints, but note particularly that some of the time for UW03, WS02 and NM06 has been advanced earlier in the quarter by as much as one week. Institutional schedulers, please be sure that your affected PIs and observers are cognizant of the changes. ----- EN Note: No science observations scheduled during EN time. ----- EN01 = EN01 Gill ? O Shutdown for installation of new secondary and other tasks. EN02 = EN02 Gill ? O Routine periodic engineering time. EN03 = EN03 Gill SH O Commissioning of Shack-Hartman instrumentation. ----- DD Note: Director's Discretionary Time (3%) ----- DD01 = 993DD01 UWGRB S R Time will be allocated to compensate programs pre-empted by GRB chases. Data available to all interested parties within ARC. ----- JHU Note: 110% of nominal share scheduled. Half night added to JH02. ----- JH01 = 3Q99JH01 Reth E O Times but not dates specified in UT; I have assumed that dates are also UT. Please let me know if there are problems with this schedule. JH02 = 3Q99JH02 McCa E R JH03 = 3Q99JH03 Davi D R (low) JH04.D = 3Q99JH04 Zhen D R (low) JH04.G = 3Q99JH04 Zhen G R ----- NMSU Note: 106% of nominal share scheduled. O (high) Although the requested dates do fall during the shutdown, I have scheduled the first half night on 9/15 when the targets will be observable at moderate air mass for much of the time. Please declare OPEN ASAP if not usable. ----- PU Note: 106% of nominal share scheduled. Half night added to PU01. ----- PU01 = PU01 Stra D R (low, high) Shutdown leaves very few dark/grey second halves in Sept. One dark second half scheduled in August. Please declare OPEN ASAP if not usable. PU02 = PU02 Turn S O Non-block scheduling. See note in BLOCK CAPS just before schedule below. PU03 = PU03 Turn D R (low) PU04 = PU04 Infa G R ----- UC Note: 108% of nominal share scheduled. R Adler Planetarium twilight program (not accounted to UC). Use instrument mounted for the night's first program. Non-block scheduling. See note in BLOCK CAPS just before schedule below. Both requested dates scheduled. ----- UW Note: 109% of nominal share scheduled. One half night each added to UW03, UW06 and UW08. ----- UW01 = UW01 Szko D R (high) UW02 = UW02 Kris S R Non-block scheduling. See note in BLOCK CAPS just before schedule below. Program requests scheduling adjacent to other programs using SPIcam, but there are very few such programs during bright time (which accounts for over 70% of the programs assigned time), and matching to the few that do is inconsistent with the requested spacing of observations. So, that constraint has been ignored. Note also that more bright time was assigned to the program than required to achieve the requested sampling rate, but not enough grey and dark time. UW03 = UW03 Wyde S R UW04 = UW04 Greb S R UW05 = UW05 Gonz E R UW06 = UW06 Marg D R (low) UW07 = UW07 Ande D R (low) Darkest time available subject to RA constraints and priority scheduled. The time is scheduled contingent upon the PI obtaining Bruce Gillespie's explicit agreement that all the technical and logistical arrangements involving the instrument are satisfactory at least 10 days prior to the scheduled observations. ----- WSU Note: 114% of nominal share scheduled. Half night added to WS01. ----- WS01 = WS01 Brow E R WS02 = WS02 Aust D R (low, medium) +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ MOST PROGRAMS ARE SCHEDULED IN HALF NIGHT BLOCKS. THE FIRST HALF OF EACH NIGHT EXTENDS FROM EVENING TWILIGHT (SEE CALENDAR DISTRIBUTED BY GRETCHEN) UNTIL 0110 MDT. FIRST HALF IS INDICATED BELOW AS "A"; THE SECOND HALF THEN EXTENDS UNTIL MORNING TWILIGHT AND IS INDICATED BELOW AS "B". THIS QUARTER THREE DIFFERENT PROGRAMS USE NON-BLOCK SCHEDULING. THESE PROGRAMS ARE INDICATED IN PARENTHESES () ON THE SCHEDULE AND THEIR TIME ALLOTMENTS ARE LISTED HERE: PU02 = 40 MIN EACH TIME SCHEDULED. UC08 = 90 MIN IN TWILIGHT EACH TIME SCHEDULED. UW02 = 60 MIN EACH TIME SCHEDULED.
