The APO 3.5m will be shutdown for the nights of July 6-31, 1998
(inclusive) for annual maintenance and, it is hoped, installation
of the Echelle.

This means that the normally oversubscribed first-half nights (A) early
in the quarter (3Q) will be in particularly short supply, and no
institution can expect to get more than a small amount of such time.
TACs should pay particular attention to programs requiring it.
