AgileGuider 1.0b6 is now available from the usual location: <http://www.apo.nmsu.edu/35m_operations/TUI-images/files/> Changes: - Centroid Radius and Max Corr are now in arcsec. - Removed the Corr Frac tuning parameter: the upper limit of measured error was already the centroid radius. - Removed the Max Corr tuning parameter. Adopted the hub guider's algorithm for determining how much error to correct: the correction fraction is larger for a better centroid fit and the upper limit is the centroid radius. - Added the version number to the window name and the folder name so that it is easy to have multiple versions installed at the same time. More info: I followed Russet's suggestion and looked at how the hub guider decides how much error to correct. It uses a table of centroid uncertainty vs. correction factor, so I adopted that (but reduced the maximum correction fraction from 0.8 to 0.7) and ditched the user- settable parameter. This removes some potentially confusing settings and may improve performance. We will see. I encourage you to leave 1.0b5 installed when you install this one. That way you can revert if you need to. Both will show up in TUI at the same time (for folks at APO the one without the version # in the name will be 1.0b5; for folks at UW: I made a minor edit to 1.0b5 so that both versions have a version # in the TUI Guide window). -- Russell APO APO APO APO APO Apache Point Observatory 3.5m APO APO APO APO APO This is message 1178 in the apo35-general archive.
