It appears that there is significant interest in an informal meeting of 3.5m community members in Toronto at the AAS meeting next week. I suggest that we meet initially for dinenr on Tuesday evening with the possibility of continuing the discussions after dinner. There would then be the possibility of further meetings or discussions, perhaps of some subset of us, on Wednesday and Thursday. [Note that the meeting banquet is scheduled for Wednesday evening.] I have called the conference hotel (the Westin) and learned that there is a small, open lounge/sitting-area just inside the main entrance near the Registration Desk. I am told that it should be easy to find and identify uniquely. I suggest that we assemble there at 6pm on Tuesday. I will attempt to find some Chinese or other suitable restaurant for a good sized group in the area for our meal. If you intend to show up for dinner and it is convenient to do so, please let me know by email or by leaving a message at my room (I will be staying in the Westin) so that I can make an appropriate reservation. However, if you want to attend and do not have a chance to let me know, please come anyway. I am sure we can be reasonably flexible. I am sending this to all who indicated at least a possible interest in the idea and posting it to apo35-general to try to reach those who did not but might still want to participate.
