                  ARC 3.5M SCHEDULE FOR 1st QUARTER 2007
                       S.Hawley, R.McMillan 2/2/07

                          NOTES: ***PLEASE READ***

2/2/07: implemented Daylight Savings Time starting
March 11 (thanks Craig!). Put in some already approved
trades. There is no OPEN or DD time remaining in the
          2/2/07 version of the schedule.

12/15/06: implemented trades, assigned OPEN time. There
is no OPEN or DD time remaining in the 12/15/06 version
          of the schedule.

12/13/06: implemented trades, corrected scheduling error,
assigned DD time. There are two partial half-nights of
OPEN time in the 12/13/06 version of the schedule.

Except in cases where strong science drivers dictate otherwise
(a minority of cases), observing time has again been scheduled
          in half night blocks.

There are 90 nights, or 180 half nights, in 1Q2007. Scheduled
engineering (routine EN01 time) consists of 5 nights, or 10
half nights, all bright. Engineering time comprises 5.6% of
the total time in 1st quarter 2007. DD time consists of 11
half nights, broken up as 3B, 1G, 7D and representing 6.1% of
          the total.

In addition to scheduled engineering time, science
observations may be pre-empted, sometimes on short notice, for
urgent engineering tasks. Such tasks include both work that
is required to safeguard observatory personnel or facilities
and that allows "hot pursuit" of some significant problem.

Please see links off of the APO home page
(http://www.apo.nmsu.edu/) for a web based interactive
          version of this schedule.

There is 1 half-night of OPEN time and 1 half-night of
unallocated DD time (DD05) in the 12/9/06 version
          of the schedule.

MOST PROGRAMS ARE SCHEDULED IN HALF NIGHT BLOCKS. THE FIRST
HALF OF EACH NIGHT EXTENDS FROM SUNSET UNTIL 0000 MST. THE
          SECOND HALF FOLLOWS UNTIL SUNRISE.

FIRST HALF IS INDICATED BELOW AS "A"; THE SECOND, AS "B".

THIS QUARTER FOUR PROGRAMS USE NON-BLOCK SCHEDULING.

INSTRUMENT CHANGE TIMES ARE NOT INCLUDED BELOW BUT WILL BE INDICATED
IN THE SCHEDULE ISSUED FROM APO AND WILL BE SHARED BETWEEN ADJOINING
          PROGRAMS AS USUAL.
