As announced on 22 August, SPIcam has been returned to UW in Seattle for repair. This has now been accomplished, and the instrument is working again. The opportunity of having it in Seattle will be used to carry out some previously planned upgrades (which would have eventually required it to be out of service for a period anyway), including most importantly conversion to a mechanical cooler which will rid us of the need for liquid nitrogen fills in the middle of the night (or at any other time). The hope is to return the instrument to service at APO in the second half of September when heavy use is again scheduled during that dark run. Many thanks to the UW SPIcam group!
