The User's Committee asked that I put out a memo on this e-mail server detailing our intention to commission the DSC as a facility-class instrument. Tim McKay and I discussed the following list of things that need to be completed before we consider the DSC "handed-over" and treated like we do the DIS and GRIM2. It is understood that the DSC would in any case remain the formal property of FNAL, and would be placed in the custody of ARC under some kind of loan agreement: o fix susceptibility to stray light o fix noise problem in analog electronics o inventory spare parts o finish filter wheel box o general cleanup of instrument electronics packaging o configuration control of instrument s/w o complete as-built engineering and user support documentation o enable remote interface in Remark o enable data compression o acquire and document filters and filter adaptors Also, it is understood that in order to complete these projects, ARC needs to specify what functionality and capabilities it expects from the camera (e.g., what read modes need to be supported, etc.). If you have comments or additional items or details for this list, please send them to me and/or put them on this mailer. thanks bg APO APO APO APO APO Apache Point Observatory 3.5m APO APO APO APO APO This is message 41 in the apo35-dsc archive.
