Howdy, Seemingly eons ago (actually the beginning of last december), I suggested that someone should put together a webpage of useful information about the Double Imaging Spectrograph. As I felt like avoiding my thesis this weekend, I put something together. I would like from the rest of the DIS using community any and all comments. For example, I have not used DIS since the new bright quartz lamps have been installed. Therefore I am sure my suggested exposure times are just wrong for spectral flats. I have also included a section for suggestions on data reduction, but if anyone has any pipeline software that they would like to provide to the community let me know, I can mention it. So, please let me know what I can include to improve the document. To get to the page directly, go to http://astro.uchicago.edu/home/web/holden/dishints.html There is a link from my personal homepage to this page as well, so if you lose the above, as long as you can find the U of Chicago homepage you can find my DIS webpage. Thanks for your (hopefully soon to be coming) input. cheers Brad APO APO APO APO APO Apache Point Observatory 3.5m APO APO APO APO APO This is message 73 in the apo35-dis archive.
